Tell us about your journey from operator to leader
When I joined benkert Malaysia in 2005, I started as a Printing Department operator with very little knowledge of the job. Every day was a learning opportunity. I listened carefully, followed guidance from my supervisors, asked questions, and worked hard to improve my skills.
Over the years, I gained valuable experience, built my technical expertise, and developed a deeper understanding of our processes and customers' needs. Eventually, that journey led me to my current role as a leader. Looking back, I am proud of how far I have come - but even more proud of the people who helped me along the way. Growth is never a solo effort; it happens when teams support each other and share their knowledge.
If I had to describe my 20 years at benkert Malaysia in three words, they would be:
Work hard. Succeed. Be proud.
For me, these words represent the mindset that has guided our team throughout the years.
What makes your workplace special?
Many companies can offer a workplace. What makes benkert Malaysia different is the way the company values its people.
Throughout my career, I have seen the company continuously show appreciation for employees - not only through day-to-day support, but also through events that bring people together, such as annual dinners and family days. These moments help us connect beyond work, strengthen relationships, and remind us that we are part of one team.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Whenever we receive a new job, a new design, or a new color requirement, our goal is simple: deliver exactly what the customer wants - and do it efficiently. Every project requires attention to detail, creativity, and close collaboration across the team. We work together to find solutions, make adjustments, and ensure the final result meets expectations.
The best moment? When the customer is happy with the outcome. That's when we know our efforts made a difference.
What advice would you give to a new team member
If you're just starting your career at delfort, my advice is simple:
Come with a positive attitude and never stop learning.
Don't be afraid to ask questions - lots of them. Take notes, learn from the people around you, and give yourself time to master new skills. Listen carefully to your supervisors, stay honest in everything you do, and take responsibility for your work.
